Our Story: Past, Present & Future
Mad Dog Lacrosse was founded with a simple mission: to elevate the standard of club lacrosse by combining elite coaching with a strong emphasis on character, culture, and development. What began as a regional effort has grown into a nationally recognized program, serving athletes across the country and helping hundreds of players achieve their goals both on and off the field.
2006: Our Origins
Mad Dog Lacrosse was founded in 2006 as a summer day camp in Sea Girt NJ by brothers Tommy and Bill Duerr as of way of sharing their passion for the game to the next generation of players. For four years, Mad Dog NJ Camps became a staple at the NJ Shore with Tommy and Bill tapping into relationships built from their collegiate playing days to attract the very best lacrosse minds to coach Mad Dog Camp Players
2010: Mad Dog Expansion
After graduating from Johns Hopkins, Tommy took over in 2010 so that Bill could assume the assistant coach position at Stevens Institute of Technology. Under Tommy’s leadership, Mad Dog expanded to travel club teams from coast to coast and has continued its commitment to bringing the best lacrosse minds to fuel the passion of the next generations of lacrosse players. That commitment has led to significant expansion of Mad Dog Lacrosse, offering programs throughout California and travel teams, camps, clinics, leagues, and box training for both boys and girls.

We continue to reimagine club lacrosse, innovating with national and regional select team programs, exclusive showcases, self-empowerment and leadership modules, and personal recruiting support – all demonstrations of our commitment to developing the whole player.

With a proven track record of success in placing student athletes at some of the finest academic institutions in the country, our granular approach towards individual and team development, recruitment assistance, and family first atmosphere, has cultivated some of the finest student athletes in the industry.
