Tommy enjoyed a highly successful high school lacrosse career at CBA: He was named team MVP three times, his senior year he earned All-American Honors, and was also named Attackman of the Year for the state of New Jersey. He finished his career with 253 goals and 178 assists totaling 431 points, making him the second leading scorer in the history of New Jersey boy’s lacrosse, only to Virginia and Boston Cannons star Matt Poskay.

Highly recruited out of high school, Tommy chose to continue playing at the collegiate level for the lacrosse powerhouse, Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. Hard work and perseverance took the Blue Jays to the playoffs throughout his career, with a Men’s Lacrosse NCAA National Championship win against Duke in 2007. At JHU, he helped their drive to a National Title. He punched home perhaps the key goal in the win over Georgetown in the NCAA Quarterfinals as his unassisted goal midway through the second quarter came after JHU had killed a three-minute non-releasable penalty and gave JHU a 4-1 lead. Georgetown was never closer than three goals again. He Ignited the Blue Jays in the NCAA Semifinals against Delaware with an unassisted goal late in the third quarter that started a 5-0 run putting the game away. In Johns Hopkins NCAA National Championship victory over Duke he had a second-quarter goal that fueled an 8-2 run that gave JHU a 10-4 halftime lead. The following year, 2008, JHU made another Championship Game appearance against Syracuse. In the 2010 season, Tommy finished his career leading the Blue Jays onto the field as a Senior Captain.

He was the recipient of the Cowan Hard Hammer Award in 2010: “The individual who demonstrated the highest level of competitiveness, mental and physical toughness, work ethic, and never quit attitude on the Johns Hopkins University Lacrosse Team.” After graduating from JHU in May of 2010, Tommy returned to Manasquan, New Jersey where he began running summer lacrosse camps and clinics. That Fall he took his love and passion for the game to San Diego, CA. In 2010, he started travel teams on both the east and west coast. Since then, Mad Dog has expanded girls programs on both coasts, National teams, and is a coast-to-coast elite-level program. As a leader and a coach, Tommy continues to spread his love for the game through his ever-expanding Mad Dog Lacrosse.

Having come from a competing club and to get to experience Mad Dog at the National level made a tremendous impact on my son. Every single coach was genuine and embraced the Mad Dog Family mantra. The same goes for the teammates who welcomed my boys. We competed against some of the best out there and embarked on the beginning of lifelong friendships. Simply put, lacrosse is now my boys favorite sport.
