TOMAS RODRIGUEZ

San Diego Boys Director

ABOUT ME

My name is Tomas Rodriguez and I currently reside in Downtown San Diego. I moved to San Diego in September 2019 from Yorktown Heights, New York. At Yorktown, I was a 4 year Varsity player. It was during my time at Yorktown that I developed a strong passion and love for the sport, and was fortunate enough to play for some of the most knowledgeable coaches the game has to offer. I decided to take an additional year to help prepare me for college at Trinity-Pawling, where I was a Postgraduate student. It enabled me to play against some of the best high school competition the country has to offer, and it helped me tremendously in my first year at college. From there, I attended the  University of Maryland Baltimore County(UMBC) from 2015-2017. I competed in the America East Conference for two years before I transferred to Pace University, 2018-2019, close to my Hometown in New York. I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice, in 2019.

Two summers ago I had the opportunity to compete on the Puerto Rico Men’s National team at the World Games in Netanya, Israel. Our team competed against some of the best teams in the world, including the Iroquois Nation, England, Japan, and Germany. We finished 8th overall out of 46 National teams, and it was the experience of a lifetime.

Since I graduated high school back in 2014, I have coached club lacrosse in Yorktown, along with being on the coaching staff for the Showtime Lacrosse Showcase held annually in Connecticut. In the spring of 2020, I had the opportunity to be an assistant coach at Cathedral Catholic. Recently, I was accepted a position as the assistant coach at Santa Fe Christian for spring 2021. Outside of Lacrosse, something I really enjoy is playing a round of golf with my friends, taking my Dog Mako for a hike, or cheering up something new in the kitchen! I am so grateful for being a part of the Mad Dog Family!
