OUR MISSION

To provide a one-of-a-kind lacrosse experience by creating a positive learning environment combined with high-level instruction fueled by a passion for the game and life itself.

How we started

Mad Dog Lacrosse was founded in 2006 as a summer day camp in Sea Girt NJ by brothers Tommy and Bill Duerr as of way of sharing their passion for the game to the next generation of players. For four years, Mad Dog NJ Camps became a staple at the NJ Shore with Tommy and Bill tapping into relationships built from their collegiate playing days to attract the very best lacrosse minds to coach Mad Dog Camp Players

After graduating from Johns Hopkins,  Tommy took over in 2010 so that Bill could assume the assistant coach position at Stevens Institute of Technology. Under Tommy’s leadership, Mad Dog expanded to travel club teams from coast to coast and has continued its commitment to bringing the best lacrosse minds to fuel the passion of the next generations of lacrosse players. That commitment has led to significant expansion of Mad Dog Lacrosse, offering programs throughout California and travel teams, camps, clinics, leagues, and box training for both boys and girls.

We continue to reimagine club lacrosse, innovating with national and regional select team programs, exclusive showcases, self-empowerment and leadership modules, and personal recruiting support – all demonstrations of our commitment to developing the whole player.

OUR CULTURE

Redefining the Championship Mentality by developing one athlete at a time.

At Mad Dog Sports, we are redefining the “Championship Mentality”. We develop each athlete, not just for sports, but for life. We do this through a focus on two tenants: Our passion for people and our commitment to family.

We will apply these concepts to everything we do, whether we are at practice, in games, dealing with outside organizations, in meetings and even when dealing with each other. These terms will be our cornerstones, and we shall judge our actions (individual, collective and organizational) by them.If we find we are not living up to them, we will review them and determine whether the terms need to change, or our behavior needs to change.

OUR PASSION

for people

People are the reason we do everything we do. Every athlete, coach, family member or visitor should look forward to their time with Mad Dog – our desire is to make it the best part of everyone’s day. We recognize that each individual has a personal process for development, and our goal is to identify that process and communicate effectively to grow that person. We want each person to evolve as players, as coaches, as fans, but most importantly as humans, prepared for life beyond the field. Each of us has the freedom to take risks, make mistakes, fail and even lose – and from that freedom will come increased capacity, resilience and ultimately holistic growth. Our loyalty is not to the organization or even the sport, it is to each and every person who is a part of Mad Dog.

OUR ORGANIZATION

for you

One of the cornerstones of our organization is to bring the best lacrosse minds together to inspire the next generation of players.  We have assembled a top notch group of directors and coaches, selected not only for their experience, but also for their positive attitudes and love of the game.

OUR COMMITMENT

to family

Mad Dog is a family – every athlete, coach, trainer, parent and fan is a part of our family. Every person in our family is accepted and valued and should feel comfortable being who they are, but each individual must focus on how they make the family better. Our trust and faith in each other gives us the ability to overcome any challenge or obstacle. We keep balance in everything we do, with family in mind. We understand that together we can provide unmatched opportunities for every athlete. People are part of the Mad Dog Family because they love what they are doing, and the people who do it with them. We will push each other in a positive way, strengthening and supporting each other in every endeavor . We develop one another recognizing success is a journey, not a destination. Together we will always reach our destination.
